Throws coaching software
Coaching Software for Shot Put, Discus, Hammer and Javelin
MarkIT is coaching software built around the four throwing events, not a generic strength-and-conditioning tool with throws bolted on. Each event has its own implement weights, its own technique demands, and its own reasons a coach needs film, not just numbers. Here's how MarkIT handles each one.
Shot put
Shot put programming needs to track glide vs. rotational technique separately, since they're different movements with different drill progressions. MarkIT lets you build event-specific weeks for either style, log distances against implement weight (which changes by age and gender class), and review release-point and footwork on film with voice analysis recorded over the clip. A coach running both glide and rotational throwers in the same group can program for each without duplicating the whole plan.
Discus
Discus technique lives almost entirely in the turn and the release, which means film review matters more here than for almost any other event. MarkIT's voice video analysis lets you talk through the exact frame where the athlete is late opening the chest or losing the throwing arm, the way you would in person, instead of typing it up after the fact. Athletes log throw distances per implement weight, so a coach tracking a discus thrower through multiple weight classes across a season sees real progression, not a flat number.
Hammer
Hammer is the event most coaches have the least in-person experience with, which is exactly where remote film review earns its keep. Turns, wire tension, and release angle are hard to coach off a description; they're much easier off video with a pin dropped on the moment the hips open. MarkIT logs hammer throws by implement weight and lets a coach who's confident in hammer technique review athletes anywhere, not just the ones at their own practice.
Javelin
Javelin has the widest gap between “throws far” and “throws safely and consistently,” because the approach and block are timing-dependent in a way the other three events aren't. Logging throw distance alone misses the approach; film review catches it. MarkIT's practice camera can record the whole approach and release automatically, so an athlete training solo still gets usable film for their coach to review, not a shaky clip filmed by whoever happened to be nearby.
One coach, four events
Most throws coaches, especially at the high school and small-college level, are coaching all four events for one team. MarkIT is built for that reality: groups are unlimited on every plan, so a coach running shot, discus, hammer and javelin squads organizes them separately without paying more to do it, and reviews film across all four from one dashboard instead of four separate systems.
Built on real training science, not generic templates
Program building in MarkIT follows implement-weight-first, event-aware programming, not a one-size-fits-all lifting template repackaged for throwers. It's software that assumes you already know how to coach throws and gives you a place to run that program, log the results, and review the film, not software that tells you how to coach.
