Throws coach app

The Throws Coach App

MarkIT is a coaching app built specifically for shot put, discus, hammer and javelin. It replaces the spreadsheet, the group text, the shared drive of clips, and a separate payments setup with one place: you build the program, your athletes log their throws and video, you review film and send feedback, and you get paid.

Why “throws coach app” is a narrow search and MarkIT is the answer

Most coaching software is built for general strength and conditioning, or for every sport at once. Throws has its own shape: four distinct events, implement weights that change by age and gender, technique that lives in video not just numbers, and coaches who are often running all four events for one small program. MarkIT is not a generic S&C tool with a throws label on it. Programming, logging, and film review are built around the actual throws loop.

What the app actually does

Program builder.Drag throws, lifts and rest days into a week, save it, reuse it next season. Build per-event or across all four. Groups are unlimited on every plan, so a coach running shot, discus, hammer and javelin squads doesn't pay more to organize them separately.

Athlete logging.Athletes log throws and lift numbers from their phone after practice. No paper, no group chat photos of a notebook. You see who logged and who didn't, in one dashboard, instead of chasing it down.

Film review.Athletes upload throw video (or use the practice camera, which starts recording automatically off a hand-raise gesture so nobody has to fumble with their phone mid-drill). You review it and record voice analysis over the clip, tied to the exact moment you're talking about, and they get a notification. This is the part spreadsheets and text threads can't do.

Film that doesn't disappear.Video plays from fast storage while it's recent, then ages into deep storage. It still plays later, it just takes a moment to load. Film is never deleted. That matters for anyone tracking technique change over a season or over years.

Payments. If you coach for money, MarkIT is the merchant of record. Athletes pay through the app, you get paid out, and the money side isn't a separate Venmo thread you have to track by hand.

Excel. If you already run your program out of a spreadsheet, MarkIT's live Excel feed pulls athlete logs into your own workbook, refreshing itself with a link back to every session. Every plan can export CSV; the live feed is a Pro feature. You don't have to give up Excel to use MarkIT.

Who this is for

Small-school and club coaches running multiple throws events with limited staff. Private and remote throws coaches who need film review and payments without stitching together four different tools. Coaches who currently run their whole program from a phone camera roll and a Google Sheet and are tired of it.

What it is not

MarkIT is not a general fitness app with a throws category, and it's not a video platform with no programming underneath. It's a single tool where programming, logging, film, and money for a throws program live together.

Getting started

Coaches join and set up their program in minutes. Athletes join by invite or code and are approved by their coach before anything goes live between them, so nobody's data or film is exposed to a stranger. The Free plan runs up to three athletes at no cost; paid plans scale up with unlimited groups.
